I want to tell you how your teaching made a big difference to me. At the end of last year, when I got the boat, and remember I was a novice, I nearly fell in mooring the boat, and I lost confidence completely in a harbour situation. Well! I still have some way to go but I have been mooring the boat at the pier with some ease, and yesterday I took the boat out of the water onto a trailer - just the way you said!!

The course was good fun and challenging, and was made all the better by Felix's good humour and inexhaustible patience!

He patiently answered our numerous questions, and calmly instructed us in our maneuvers. Felix demonstrated excellent boat handling skills, clearly borne of years of experience in driving boats.

He also showed a keen ability to teach others; easily identifying an individual's mistakes, and remedying with a few words of advice.

My first sailing experience was with Ann-Marie and Felix. Any apprehension that I had of being a land-lubber novice was quickly resolved as I stepped on board.

Felix has a natural instinct to share his considerable knowledge and seamanship with anyone who wants to listen and learn. And learn I did, as I was assigned the helm on this initial outing while Felix explained in layman's terms, what I was doing, how to do it and why it needed to be done.

Felix has extensive experience on the seas and has many tales to tell. He had a story to illustrate most things he taught me and a few stories that just plain kept us all amused.

I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent instruction and practical learning approach on the powerboat course I recently completed with Felix Finlay.

It was great to learn new driving skills and lose old bad habits in a friendly, focused manner on the water and to avail of his vast knowledge and experience.

Now I can impress my crew with my maneuvering ability and have gained the confidence to go further a field in safety and also to help out with rescue duties at my sailing club. Thanks again it was great fun and a very valuable addition to my range of sailing ability.

Having sailed a cruiser for years in Clontarf I took the "National Power Boat Certificate" with Felix. It was great fun, informative and I learned new skills. Most of all I met new friends.

Since taking part in a powerboat course run by Felix, the mystery was removed and the course was made very simple. The instruction was easy to understand and learn. Most importantly it was fun!
